Survey on rice quality characteristics addressed to the industrial sector
The survey on rice quality characteristics evaluated in Latin America and the Caribbean was directed to the industrial sector with the objective of knowing the quality criteria used by the industry in the different stages of reception of the raw material, processing and distribution of rice for the different markets.
Nine countries, members of the network of strategic allies of FLAR AND the Alliance OF Bioversity International and CIAT, participated in this survey. The survey was conducted in 2021 and was based on the opinion of 29 experts from the rice sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. The survey is descriptive in nature, applied to obtain information on the industrial processes of the grain linked to rice quality. It is important to note that the survey does not necessarily reflect the point of view of the institutions or countries that the respondents represent.

Respondents included plant managers, department supervisors and analysts.
